 | Bayne Pharmacy on Washington Street in Macon, Georgia - 1910 Located behind Washington Memorial Library across the street from Washington Park. This store later became Capitol Cycle which was primarily a bicycle shop in the 1970s. I took my Schwinn Continental to this shop for maintenance before I knew it once was my grandfather's pharmacy.
While a student at nearby Wesleyan College, Madame Chiang Kai-Shek visited the pharmacy where she was introduced to ice cream sodas. Here's a reference to it in Madame Chiang Kai-Shek: China's Eternal First Lady by Laura Tyson Li.
